Job Title: Director – Electronic Foreign Exchange Solutions for London office

Job Description:

Edgewater Markets seeks an operational solutions director for the European team based out of the London office. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the delivery of trading, reporting and operational solutions to provide service to the business’ growing need for automation, cost reduction, compliance and accuracy. The role requires responsibility for all planning, resource allocation and delivery of project goals within the scope of the e-trading business. 5+ years’ experience in Institutional FX is a must. Meticulous attention to detail, excellent time-management skills & an ability to work under pressure is required. The position would suit the person who can seamlessly integrate with an existing team & who can “hit the ground running”. Act as an escalation point for the global operations teams for transaction issues.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support productivity by reviewing, enhancing and evolving processes, streamlining of operational, booking & trading systems with the goal of reducing latency and improving execution quality for the client to drive progress
  • Responsible for Trade capture, but not limited to, performing initial trade bookings, resolving trade discrepancies, and facilitating trade life cycle events
  • Identify. resolve variations in risk in the trading system with the goal of optimizing performance for the trading system
  • Monitor all trade issues, escalate as necessary, and resolve in a timely and efficient manner
  • Ensure initial trade bookings, trade amendments, client credit checks, and allocations occur in a timely manner
  • Responsible for reconciliation of transactions
  • Champion technical innovation, help set directions in evaluating, leveraging technology and industry best practices
  • Researches, resolves technical issues, provides technical support and trade inquiries
  • Deliver high priority client service, by maintaining a strong focus on customer service, to meet client and internal expectations which directly effects the customers perception of Edgewater Markets
  • Update and maintain customer reporting
  • Support the FX Onboarding group with analysis of processes and maintenance of procedures, policies
  • Provides high quality work by ensuring accuracy and ability to deliver change initiatives efficiently
  • Maintenance of Edgewater Systems
  • Escalate to senior management (e.g. Front Office, Product Control, Compliance, and/or Operations) any issues that may cause monetary loss to the firm or that could affect client relationships and provide awareness of potential issues
  • Provide input into the day-to-day operations of the sales team & help implement reforms to the sales cycle and accompanying processes where warranted
  • Proficient in Bloomberg, ECNs, remote access, state-of-the-art trading platforms and quotation services
  • Provide support for global connectivity and communication with global counterparts to ensure consistency and alignment to target operating models within the company
  • Create and maintain operating manual and handbook

Key Management of Risk

  • Ensure compliance with operational risk controls in accordance with internal or regulatory standards and policies; and optimize relations with regulators by addressing any issues
  • Must be aware of the Operational Risk scenario associated with the role and acts in a manner that takes account of operational risk considerations
  • Understanding of the “Best Practices” and back-to-front product flow to manage Operational Risk
  • An understanding of the fundamentals of risk, control assessments and protocols

Requirements, Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years’ proficiency in Institutional FX and trading markets, in FX trading products and their platforms, FX operations, processes, workflows, trade lifecycle and ability to acclimate quickly and become knowledgeable on the firm’s core product offering
  • Apply independent judgment and use discretion when resolving trade discrepancies to ensure the firm’s capital is accurately applied
  • Apply independent judgment to act in the team’s and the organization’s best interest in all responsibilities and situations
  • Maintain a strong focus on customer support
  • Ability to work under pressure, without close supervision and meet deadlines
  • Analytical thinking & problem-solving ability
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new systems and develop appropriate procedures
  • Minimum of a BA/BS degree in financial or related field, or related experience
  • Expert electronic platform knowledge including but not limited to: Integral, Flextrade, Broadway, ETG, TradAir, APIs, reporting systems and prime brokers
  • Evidence of delivering and exceeding required outputs
  • Existing portable customer base – a plus
  • TradAir/Integral/API/Broadway/EBS:  system product knowledge – a plus
